As a Senior Openstack, SDN/NFV Architect I am responsible for the  design, presentation and implementation of a lab test environment for the evaluation of the suitability of various vnf product as supplied by a list of vendors in an array of categories. Such virtual products as virtual firewalls, virtual load balancers, virtual routers, virtual cpe, virutal DPI and many others.

 

·                          Create a lab test environment consisting of five Openstack Kilo Clusters based on KVM and RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) to evaluate several use cases such as data centers, large enterprise deployments, etc.

AT&T:

 

As a Systems Engineer I was responsible for producing High Level Designs for the Provisioning Application Layer (PAL) project. These designs were used to automatically produce the custom configuration files to be loaded into the Cisco routers at both the customer premises as well as at the transport level. In the course of the project I was called upon to produce not only designs but also to produce xml schema to hand off to the developers for coding.

·                          Designed solutions based upon customer needs to allow global searches of Cisco router configurations.

·                          Designed and produced an internal customer wiki for Use as a document sharing system, customer education system and user reference area. This saved an enormous amount of engineering time that was normally spent searching for documentation on a then group server.

·                          Provided architectural guidance and knowledge transfer in the areas of SDN and NFV from experience in preparation for the groups future move to provisioning of these new network technologies.

·                          Part of the team developing a new configuration system to deliver VoIP services to a unique group of customers. This was an agile project.

·                          Worked with multiple internal systems including Oracle IPSA, WFMS, and NC3.

·                          Wrote project scope documents as well as Executive summaries for presentation to customer stakeholders.

While working with Verizon in Basking Ridge N.J. I was assigned to the Architectural Planning team as part of the NeXT project core team. This team was to transform the current architecture of Verizon into their next generation architecture.

Among my tasks were:

·   Authoured a white paper on the current status of inventory management within Verizon and recommend a path for evolution of this status to the next generation of system architecture. A large portion of this concentrated on SDN/NFV and the future of OpenFlow and OpenStack.

·   Authour edadditional white papers on Operations Systems Reference Architecture.

·   Review and comment on the Master Data Management proposal.

·   Participate with the team as an advocate of the proposed NeXT architecture with the various divisions and operational areas within Verizon.

 

 

TechMahindra US inc. Earthlink project:

 

As the M6 Senior Technical Architect on the Earthlink PI2 project I have been called upon to provide innovative solutions for the M6 inventory management system to allow for the replacement of Earthlink’s Wave software by M6 and the automation of the circuit provisioning aspects of the project. I also acted as the component lead for the M6 team and Diamond IP team.

 

·               Designed and prepared solutions for the migration of customer’s Circuit Design database to M6.

·               Presented the above proposal along with a demo to the customer and received acceptance.

·               Designed mechanism to allow the automatic selection of the proper provisioning plans and network connections for the PSR orders.

·               Led the Diamond IP ip management software team in redesigning the IP management process and structure being used by Earthlink.

·               Prepared the proposals for this new ip management structure as well as the business rules surrounding it.

·               In my role as component lead I attended regular Customer facing meetings for both the M6 inventory and Diamond IP management software initiative.
